[V-443] Road Surface Evaluation based on the Vibration Response of an Electric Mobility Scooter
Keywords:road surface evaluation, texture, electric mobility scooter, accelerometer, GNSS
Electric mobility scooters which are solely battery-operated personal small vehicles are becoming an increasingly common way of a walking aid. This study identifies the road surface characteristics related to the vibration response of an electric mobility scooter which are required to evaluate the pavements served for pedestrian spaces. For this purpose, driving experiments using an electric mobility scooter were conducted on ten different road surfaces. This paper reports that road surface evaluation for pedestrian spaces requires taking surface texture rather than the roughness into consideration.
