[VII-66] Tests on the effective use of ash drived from wood biomass power generation

FIT was enacted in July 2012 and woody biomass power plants have been constructed nationwide in order to utilize forest resources in Japan. On the other hand, the combustion ashes generated as a result of power generation are often disposed of as industrial waste, and reduction of the amount of disposal is a major issue. Since wood combustion ash contains a relatively large amount of potassium, the use as fertilizer raw material has been considered. Here, as a method of utilization other than fertilizer raw materials, we examined a method of sintering wood ash at high temperature or melting the ash to reuse them as civil engineering material, and showed that it could be applied to any method.
