[I-212] Considerations for composite girder design

“SPECIFICATIONS FOR HIGHWAY BRIDGES” was revised in 2017 and “PART I:COMMON” was renovated, but "PARTⅡ STEEL BRIDGES & STEEL MATERIALS", " PARTⅢ:CONCRETE BRIDGES & CONCRETE MATERIALS " for superstructure remain largely unchanged after major reorganization in 1973. You can understand that the standard of “PART II” recommends a consideration of the slab composition action showing almost real behavior, however, there are some questions including calculation examples. Based on this situation, regarding design calculation examples published later, we propose a tentative plan of basic policy for design calculation and problems in design procedure.
