[I-265] Vertical Support Performance of Reinforced Concrete Members and Frames with Shear Failure
Keywords:Shear failure, Collapse, Buckling, Redundancy, Underground structure
Underground structures are statically indefinite and have the possibility to keep stability after the partial failure of members. Then, we have investigated the behavior to collapse to evaluate the above-mentioned redundancy. In this report the influence of out-of-plane shear reinforcement, the constraint by the surrounding ground and loading schedule was discussed through the experiment. Though the horizontal displacement at which the horizontal load capacity started to decrease was barely related with three factors, the resistance against collapse was superior in the case constrained with the sand or in the case of monotonic loading.
