[II-88] A Study on the effect of water level fluctuation on Inundation Drainage

Kanako Hasumi1, Yukinobu Oda1 (1.Taisei Corporation)

Keywords: drainage , inundation, drainage pipe, storm surge

Factories in the coastal areas are protected from high waves by parapets installed on the revetment, preventing overtopping. For business continuity, it is necessary to drain the overtopped seawater promptly. Practically, the design of the drainage channel requires the the difference between the assumed inundation depth due to rainfalls and the average sea level. The effect of the water level fluctuation due to the waves is not considered. Therefore, the effects of waves on the drainage were examined by numerical analysis. As a result, it was found that when the water level fluctuated due to the waves, the drainage amount decreased by several percent depends on the wave height and the wave period.
