The authors constructed a self-supporting retaining wall constructed by soil solidification on a landfill, and conducted an experiment to measure the behavior of the retaining wall during the excavation. As a result, the effectiveness of elasto-plastic FEM analysis and strain measurement by fiber optic sensors was confirmed. Either of these methods can be used to measure the behavior of soil solidification self-supporting retaining wall during construction or grid-pattern soil solidification walls after the earthquakes in service. In addition, accumulating case histories on sites using fiber optic sensors in the future may lead to rationalization of the design of the countermeasures.
