[VI-1057] Report on precasting of box culverts due to raising prefectural roads

The precast box culverts to be reported are subjected to structural planning restrictions, and the construction period is limited to one year from removal of debris after opening of the detour to embankment, culvert construction, and opening of prefectural roads. The construction had to be completed in about 4.5 months. Since the above constraints cannot be satisfied with the culvert made by cast-in-place concrete, the precast culvert was chosen to clear all the constraints. This paper reports on the concepts and considerations in the production and construction of large precast box culverts.
