[S01B-05] Comparative study on pavement roughness identification methods utilizing acceleration of a moving vehicle
Keywords:Pavement Roughness, Inverse Problem, Identification, Acceleration
Identification of pavement roughness by sensors attached on a moving vehicle has been studied actively as it is expected to reduce cost, labor and time comparing to the direct measurement. Especially the method using only accelerometers has a great advantage on cost. This study investigates several methods to identify pavement roughness by using accelerometers measured by a moving vehicle. The investigation was conducted by both simulation and experiment. Results showed that both the moving force identification (MFI) algorithm with regularization and Kalman filter can be useful methods with reasonable accuracy.
