It would be cost-effective if the response of a rockfall barrier with chain-link wire mesh to a rockfall impact could be verified by model experiments. The authors have proposed a method for estimating the elasto-plastic displacement of full-scale structures by model experiments for elasto-plastic beams, but the proposed method was not applicable to chain link wire netting because its deformation trajectory is different from that of elasto-plastic body. In this study, out-of-plane loading tests were conducted to investigate the mechanical similarity of the load-displacement relationship of chain-link wire mesh, and it was confirmed that the replica law was highly applicable.
