In this study, the rotating soil spring under the spread foundation of the RC pier with the backfill soil was replaced with the vertical soil spring, and the stepping effect of the spread foundation was evaluated. And then, aforementioned study introduced energy balance, the stepping effect of the spread foundation cased the superstructure was investigated from viewpoints of energy.
