In recent years, the number of landslide disasters caused by small scale streams has been increasing. An open Sabo dam supported by cable has been proposed as a countermeasure structure. In order to evaluate the performance of the open Sabo dam, an impact experiment is conducted to confirm the response of the cable members. In addition, elastic-plastic analysis is conducted to reproduce the experimental results and the results are generally reproducible. Furthermore, according to the results of a dam model analysis comparing with different loading rate, it is found that the cable bear a static action and cross member bear a dynamic action.
