[24013-18-04] Generation of representative ground motions for a ground motion set considering multiple intensity measures (Proceedings of Symposium on Applied Mechanics)
Keywords:representative ground motion, autoencoder, nonlinear response, feature identification
For consideration of uncertainty in the seismic design, it is impossible to consider all members of a large set of ground motions (GMs) sharing a common characteristics, e.g., originating from a same fault. It would be helpful if we can select or generate one or a few GMs to represent the whole set on some intensity measures. However, this is challenging when representation on multiple intensity measures is considered simultaneously. This study aims to develop a method to generate GMs that can be representative on multiple nonlinear response intensity measures.
