Physical Education and Sports Sciences
A National Education Policy (NEP) is a comprehensive framework to guide the development of education in the country. NEP2020 is India’s third education policy replaces the 2nd NEP1986 which was revised in 1992 before that the 1st was in 1968. The vision of this policy is to develop an education system that contributes to an equitable and vibrant knowledge society by providing high-quality education to all. It instills skills, values and dispositions that support responsible commitment to human rights, sustainable development and living, global well-being reflecting truly global citizen of Vasidhaiv Kutumbkam.
It focuses on innovative pedagogy for transforming teaching learning process by setting up PARAKH the Performance Assessment, Review and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development a National Assessment Centre and SWAYAM / DIKSHA to Academic Credit Bank and MERUs the Multidisciplinary Education and Research Universities to Open and Distance Learning and MOOCs to Online Digital Education and NETF National Educational Technology Forum creating multidisciplinary optimal learning environment for student support.
It ensures universal access to education at all level based on skill qualification focusing on competencies and subject integration by understanding in local language, culture and environment as ‘Vocal for Local’
An inclusive teaching learning and playing environment as it has made mandatory for student to acquire skill in Health and Nutrition; Physical Education; Fitness; Wellness and Sports to develop universal mental and physical health. Early childhood education through standard-setting, accreditation, reduction in curriculum, participatory, action and skill oriented education.
The curriculum framework has been designed to harness full human potential and development through lifelong learning awareness towards new areas of knowledge and skilling to meet industrial demands for economic development and human capital.
