[6D-03] Suggestion to Consider Disaster Records for the Assessment of the Structural Performance of Historical Buildings

For old historical buildings that have experienced large seismic motions, it is thought that seismic resistance has been shown by actual tests on a historical time scale, rather than by engineering seismic diagnosis. In this paper, the authors suggest a process to be considered before seismic diagnosis based on the structural calculation model is undertaken. Further, the importance of judgment, based on the historical background of a building and its record, should be recognized when repairing it.
