[9A-01] The shape of a winnowing basket that creates its own wind

Focusing on the process of wind-winnowing, which is one of the functions of a winnowing basket (an example of a traditional tool), we set out to observe the air movement induced when the winning basket was swung down and to analyze the movement with CFD. As a result, it was confirmed that a clear air flow was generated in a direction orthogonal to the direction of movement when the winnowing basket was lightly swung down, due to the characteristic form of the winnowing basket (which is to say, the overall U-shape of the artifact as a whole and the concave configuration of its surface).
