[PB-21] Possibility of respiratory products from the point of view of universal design-7
Development of next-generation disease management tool by the fusion of design science and medicine

Focusing on the pressurized spray inhaler (pMDI), we discover problems from the viewpoint of universal design and propose solutions. Experiments have shown that attaching the mouthpiece to the pMDI opens the throat during suction and increases the area of the posterior wall of the pharynx. From this, it was found that the use of a mouthpiece is also effective in increasing the area of the posterior pharyngeal wall. Therefore, I designed the shape to find the shape of the mouthpiece that has the effect of pushing down the tongue to open the throat and making it easier to inhale the drug. The purpose of this study is to create several new mouthpieces and, through quantitative and qualitative studies, find out which shape is easy to use and has an inhalation effect.
