第43回 日本血管外科学会学術総会

Presidential Message

It is my great pleasure to hold the 43rd Annual Meeting of Japanese Society for Vascular Surgery in Yokohama and welcome all of you to Yokohama, Japan from June 3rd to June 5th, 2015. The theme of the meeting is “The future of the vascular surgery and vascular surgeons.”
There is a rapid paradigm shift of vascular surgery including open and endovascular treatment. We aim to clear our present status of vascular surgery and show the vision for the future. Within two decades since hand-made stented grafts were introduced, the number of endovascular treatment for abdominal aortic aneurysm has surpassed that of the open repair in our country. On the other hand, the rapid progress has produced insufficient analysis of the effectiveness of the new technology. Now is the time to verify the efficacy of endovascular treatment in the field of vascular surgery. We will discuss the validity of the endovascular surgery and other new technology to treat aorta, peripheral artery, vein and lymphatic system. The venue of the meeting is located in “Minato Mirai area” which means the place where the classical seaport meets the future. One of the world largest China-town is nearby, famous for good foods among lovers. Yokohama is located near Tokyo and Kamakura. Let us help the guests to have a valuable time during the stay in Yokohama. We are looking forward to seeing you soon in Yokohama, Japan.
