[1Ea03] Plasma-Enhanced Atomic Layer Deposited Defects Rich ZrO2-x Nano-Thin Film Stabilized Air Electrode of The Solid Oxide Cells
Solid oxide cells (SOCs) are vital for sustainable energy solutions, with Sr-based perovskite oxides like SFM, BSCF, and LSCF showing promise in enhancing oxygen reduction reactions (ORR). However, these materials suffer from poor stability due to surface segregation and impurity phase formation. To address this, a 15 nm defects-rich ZrO2-x film was applied to SFM perovskite surfaces using plasma-enhanced atomic layer deposition (PE-ALD). This film improved thermochemical stability and oxygen ionic conduction, leading to significantly enhanced SFM air electrode stability and performance. This innovative approach holds potential for high-temperature energy devices, particularly in SOCs and metal-air batteries.
