[2Dp01] Current status and case studies of photoelectron spectroscopy research using micro-focused synchrotron radiation at the Photon Factory
A current status of micro-photoelectron spectroscopy research at the Photon Factory, KEK, is presented. Two undulator beamlines (BLs), 13B and 28A, provide micro-focused synchrotron radiation beams, which are formed by a toroidal mirror and a Kirkpatrick-Baez mirror, respectively. The achieved beam sizes are 78 μm (horizontal) × 15 μm (vertical) for the 100-eV photon beam at BL-13B and 10 μm (horizontal) × 12 μm (vertical) at the photon energy of 200 eV at BL-28A. Because of a wide available photon-energy range (48—2000 eV), BL-13B is suitable for micro-X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy research. On the other hand, the end station of BL-28A equips an electron analyzer with a deflector electron lens mode, which makes the BL suitable for measuring valence band dispersion of microcrystalline materials. Some of case studies at both BLs will be presented. We also introduce the latest two-axis sample goniometer installed in the end station of BL-13B.
