[S10] Current and future outlooks on pharmaceutical sciences by young academic researchers

Sat. Mar 26, 2022 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM [Room K] Conference Room 224 (Bldg. 2: 2F)

Organizer: Kohei Yamada (Univ. of Shizuoka), Takaaki Ito (Gifu Pharmaceutical University)

In recent years, nucleic acid drugs, protein drugs, antibody drugs, and cellular medicine have been drawn more attention as new drug modalities that meet the unique needs of patients. Also, small molecular drugs have been gathering attention as a repositionable compound for the treatment of diseases without good therapies based on high-throughput screenings. In the development of pharmaceutical products, knowledge and experience on pharmaceutical sciences should be helpful to overcome limitations of drug candidates regarding physicochemical and/or pharmacokinetic properties for maximizing therapeutic potentials, and to ensure the product quality for safe, reliable, and effective medication. "The best pharmaceutical products" can be developed just after optimization of the formulation design and evaluation of their effectiveness by reasonable methodologies. In this context, pharmaceutical sciences have been increasing their role in the drug development, and its importance will increase more and more in the future. In this symposium, we have five speakers who are young academic researchers on pharmaceutical sciences, and they would give an informative presentation and discussion on their research projects and future perspectives. We hope that this symposium provides an opportunity to open a new page of pharmaceutical sciences.

オーガナイザー挨拶:山田 幸平(静岡県大薬) (1:30 PM - 1:35 PM)
