Symposium
Mon. Mar 28, 2022 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM [Room K] Conference Room 224 (Bldg. 2: 2F)
Organizer: Akihiro Hisaka (Grad. Sch. Pharm. Sci., Chiba Univ.), Kiyomi Ito (Fac. Pharm., Musashino Univ.), Takashi Yoshikado (Yokohama Univ. Pharm.)
The concept of modeling and simulation, which began in the field of pharmacokinetics, has expanded to pharmacology and toxicology, and now has a significant impact on a wide range of fields such as drug development and individualized medical optimization. Modeling is often a tool that links events that occur in vitro to in vivo observations, i.e. reasons to outcomes, and therefore, can be said to support the rationality of science. However, even in the field of pharmacokinetics, where modeling has evolved in such a way, there are still many events that cannot be explained rationally. Some of these problems seem to have been solved in the name of scaling, but the essence of these problems cannot be fully explained. In pharmacokinetics, modeling is easy because drug concentrations can be measured, and if the explanation fails here, it is natural that it will be more difficult in other fields. With this in mind, this symposium will present recent topics and developments from researchers who are making serious efforts to link in vitro and in vivo pharmacokinetic results.
