We recruited 3 cases with diagnosis of infantile spasms ( one presenting hemi-spasms) at the age of 3 to 7 months. Among them, one is premature complicated with Grade IV IVH S/P drainage. One is sequel of subdural hemorrhage and suspected shaken baby syndrome and the 3rd one is traumatic brain injury of infantile stage. An infantile spasm was corresponded to EEG and clinical phenomena. One patient responded to levatiracetam only, and the other two responded to combined therapy with levatiracetam and vigabatrin. The EEG were all improved from hypsarrythmia and/or diffuse high voltage of slow spikes and waves complex; only residual focal spikes and slow activity of background was found. In conclusion, symptomatic infantile spasms may have better prognosis of the causes of traumatic hemorrhage disease in brain. However, more cases should be enrolled to exact affirmation.
