[O08-P55] What should we do to protect step from erosion?

Incentive: Heavy rain made step and waterway at Shizuoka Prefectural Forest Park .By erosion of the waterway, a lot of sediment have flowed into Uguisdani Sinsui Pond, which is downstream of the waterway .As a result the environment of the pond would be disturbed .To stop it, we started this investigation
Means: we conducted four kind of experiment, field survey and simulation by computer .In the experiment ,we made a model of the waterway and flowed water and sand .We changed condition of gradient of the model(15°and30°) and whether we made erosion control dam or not . We define the model which has a slope of 15°and doesn’t have the erosion control dam as A ,the model which has a slope of 30°and doesn’t have the erosion control dam as B ,
the model which has a slope of 15°and have an erosion control dam as C, the model which has a slope of 15°and have two erosion control dam as D
Consequence: A made waterfall basin of 11.7cm, which is the biggest Second was C(10.1cm). It is followed to D(8.3cm) and B (6.5cm).
Backdown to horizontal direction of step of A was biggest .(54cm)Next is B(45cm) also, C and D were equal.(0cm)According to field survey and simulation, erosion proceeded repeatedly to vertical direction and to horizontal direction .In conclusion, By increase the slope and make erosion control dam, we can suppress erosion of the waterway.
