[6a-PB1-4] Critical currents of grain boundaries in SmBa2Cu3Oy + BaHfO3 films fabricated on bicrystal substrates

Critical currents in REBa2Cu3Oy films are significantly suppressed at the grain boundaries. For the applications and the futher development of coated conductors, it is important to understand the critical current properties of grain boundaries under various conditions. We have, therefore, measured the critical current densities in SmBa2Cu3Oy films fabricated on bicrystals under various measurement temperatures and magnetic fields. We have also prepared SmBa2Cu3Oy + BaHfO3 films in order to investigate the contrasting critical current properties between both pure SmBa2Cu3Oy films and SmBa2Cu3Oy films with artificial pinning centers. The results imply that the suppression at the grain boundaries in SmBa2Cu3Oy + BaHfO3 films could be less than that for pure SmBa2Cu3Oy films.
