[10p-M114-11] Two-temperature model molecular dynamics calculations of femtosecond laser ablation for metals

Purposes of this study are investigating the nonthermal ablation of metals at the atomic level and discussing the contribution of the electronic entropy in this phenomenon. Calculation method of our study is a two-temperature model molecular dynamics method, in which the thermal diffusion equation of the electron subsystem is solved coupled with the equation of motion of atoms. In this study, we extended the method to satisfy the law of conservation of energy while considering the effect of the electronic entropy. Based on our calculation results, we are going to show a physical mechanism of the nonthermal ablation which can explain experiments well.
