Development of a cap for measuring head shape for 3D scanning

In recent years, digitization of shapes using 3D scanners and designs utilizing the digitized shape data have become more common. However, the measurement of head shape with a 3D scanner is hampered by hair, making it impossible to obtain shape data. In addition, there is a problem of not being able to obtain the optimal head shape. To solve this problem, we have developed a measurement cap that can digitize the head shape with a 3D scanner while minimizing the influence of hair in both patterned light projection and photogrammetry, and obtained good results.
