[GW1-02] 海外で昆虫サンプルを取得・移転するときの対応-生物多様性条約/名古屋議定書/ABSの話-

When collecting and/or transferring genetic resources such as insects abroad, it is necessary to comply with the relevant laws and rules of each country, follow the necessary procedures and obtain permission. The background to the need for these laws and procedures is the Access and Benefit-sharing (ABS) decision of the Convention on Biodiversity (CBD) at 1993 and the entry into force of the Nagoya Protocol (2014). While research delays are likely to occur in order to comply with ABS, compliance with the laws and regulations of the genetic resource providing country is unavoidable. It is necessary to comply with the laws and regulations of the providing country, ABS guidelines in Japan and relevant treaty laws and regulations.This presentation will introduce the state of development of laws and regulations in each country, as well as trouble cases in Ecuador, India, Indonesia and Sabah-Malaysia, and how to deal with them.ABS responses have issues such as different laws and regulations in each country, unclear response methods, slow and time-consuming responses in the provider countries, etc. Therefore, opinions from the researcher are very important for such approaching issues. This time, I would like to provide information on ABS and ask for researchers’ opinions.
