General Session Thursday, March 28 - Sunday, March 31, 2024
Speakers must be honorary members of the society and members who have paid their annual dues until the year 2024.
Non-members who wish to give a presentation are requested to complete the admission procedures and payment of the 2024 membership fee before submitting their presentation.
Please select up to the third choice from the following presentation categories when submitting your abstract. Please note that we may not be able to accommodate all requests due to program organization.
Presentations may be given in either Japanese or English. Members who wish to give an oral presentation in English and those who have the following eligibility requirements should select the presentation category "1: English Oral Presentation" (Please select 1 as your second and third choice when you register).
JSAEZ: Those who have not obtained a doctoral degree (including students) or within 5 years of obtaining a doctoral degree (excluding childcare/nursing care leave) at the time of registration.
ESJ: Student members or young regular members.

The copyright of the video contents belongs to the presenter. Please be careful not to infringe on the rights or interests of third parties (unauthorized filming, recording, or capturing of slides is also prohibited). (Unauthorized photographing, recording, or capturing of images of slides is prohibited.) If any infringement of rights or profits occurs, the presenter will be held responsible for all the consequences. The following is an example of the guidelines.Audience members are not allowed to record, photograph, make hard copies of screen images, save them to computers or other storage media, or redistribute them.
No music will be played.
No photographs or videos taken by others will be used.
Do not use photographs of shrines and temples, works of art, portraits of celebrities, scenes from movies, etc., even if they were taken by you. All of these must be licensed.
Clearly distinguish between the quoted portion and the original portion, make the quoted portion "secondary" in quality and quantity, and clearly indicate the source as is customary (fulfill the "Three Requirements for Quotations").
Do not use figures and tables from articles, books, etc. for which the publisher holds the copyright (copying and pasting is not permitted in principle).
(In principle, copying and pasting is not acceptable.
Even in the case of "quotations" of texts, if the work to be viewed is the "main work" as judged by the subject-subject relationship requirement for quotations, permission should be obtained from the author for all quotations, even if the number of quoted lines is short.

Oral Presentations
All oral presentations must be given on-site (remote presentations are not acceptable).The presentation time is 14 minutes per title including 2 minutes for Q&A (1 minute is allowed for changing speakers).
Please avoid using Japanese names of insects, including discriminatory terms.
Those who have selected "1: Oral Presentation in English" will present their papers in the same session (venue). The prize will be awarded to a student member or a qualified member who gives a particularly excellent oral presentation in English.
If there are not many applicants for poster presentation, student members who did not wish to make an oral presentation in English may be asked to make a poster presentation.
Presenters are requested to bring their own laptop computer or other equipment to the venue for oral presentations. Please note the following points.
Please bring your own laptop computer or tablet terminal. Please do not forget to bring a power cord. There are no restrictions on the model, software, or presentation format, as long as it can be projected on an ordinary LCD projector.
Please use HDMI or VGA (mini D-sub 15-pin) cables for connection to the projector; Mac and tablet users should bring their own conversion cables.
After the previous speaker's presentation, you will be asked to connect your computer. When connecting your computer, please open the projection file in advance (please start the slide show after switching the computer).
Please be sure to save the PDF data of your slides on a CD in case of computer malfunction.
Poster Presentations
Core times for poster presentations are 11:30-12:30 (odd numbers) and 12:30-13:30 (even numbers). Details of when posters will be put up and taken down will be posted on the Congress website.The dimensions of the poster display panels are 120 cm (W) x 180 cm (H). Posters should be large enough to fit within these dimensions.
The poster prize will be awarded to the member with the best poster presentation. Poster judging criteria differ between societies. Members of the Japanese Society of Applied Zoology and Entomology are student members only (members of the Entomological Society of Japan are student members and young regular members).
If there are too many applicants for poster presentation, general members may be asked to give oral presentations.
