[S56] Paradigm shift in the education methods of pharmaceutical sciences for the with/post COVID-19 era-Progress in clinical preparatory education utilizing digital transformation (DX)-

Tue. Mar 28, 2023 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM [Room A] Institute for the Advancement of Higher Education: Main Hall (Bldg. N: 1F)

Organizer: Mariko Takeda, Kiyoshi Mihara

The recent outbreak of the novel coronavirus has caused the cancellation or curtailment of clinical training at universities that train medical personnel, and has severely restricted training opportunities. The same was true in the field of pharmacy, where clinical training and clinical preparatory education for acquiring dispensing skills and drug instruction methods were affected. On the other hand, despite these restrictions, each university that train pharmacy students have independently created opportunities without compromising the quality and quantity of education, and have worked to acquire the skills required for pharmacist work. It is expected that, based on this experience, the university will further evolve its practical training to meet the with/post COVID-19 era, and attempts to develop and introduce new techniques will become more and more active. Therefore, this symposium will introduce case studies of universities that have already put into practice technologies such as digital transformation (DX), which have been making remarkable progress in recent years, by promptly incorporating them into practical skills courses and lectures in clinical preparatory education. Then, by discussing the current progress, challenges, and future development of DX technology in medical human resource development, the symposium aims to provide a vision for the future of pharmacy education using DX technology.
