Since removal of rare-earth FPs in spent salt by conversion to precipitate is considered in fast reactor cycle using uranium-free TRU metal fuel, experiments to add precipitants to molten salt containing rare-earth chlorides were conducted. From chemical forms and sizes of the precipitates, the precipitating reactions and appropriate method for collecting the precipitate were examined.
