Geopolymer has been put to practical use as a solidifying material for radioactive waste such as sludge derived from damaged fuel and spent resin in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Structure and properties of typical geopolymer was investigated. Results indicated superiority to ionic element confinement as compared with cement.
