[2D04] Development of SiC/SiC cladding tube for LWR

SiC/SiC composites have been shown to be promising structural materials for use in nuclear reactor cores to enhance safety, and IBIDEN and Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation are promoting development for the application of LWR of SiC/SiC composites. We fabricate SiC/SiC cladding tube with filament winding technology, braiding technology and CVI/CVD technology. In this presentation, we report the results of strength test of SiC/SiC cladding tube made by CVI-SiC process.
