We have developed photonic crystal sensor consisting of colloidal nanoparticles and thermos-responsive polymers for simple and rapid metal ion analysis. In this study, we succeeded to create a novel core-shell photonic crystal polymer gel including imidazole moieties, and to realize the selective sensing lanthanide ions.
