High-energy radiations associated with lightning and thunderclouds have been measued on the coastal area of the Japan Sea where ligning activity is high in winter season. In this presentation, based on our observations conducted until now, we explain how such raditions are produced. Then, we also report one peculiar event that lightning causes photonuclear reactions to generate neutron, positrons and radioactive isotopes of oxygen and carbon.
