[3F01] SMR Development in the World and its Impact on Energy Sector

Recently various activities on the development of SMR (Small Modular Reactor) have been reported around the world. In particular the governments of US, UK and Canada are supporting the development of SMR by industries. The international organizations such as IAEA and OECD/NEA published reports about SMR, reflecting the increase of interest among international nuclear society.
Based on the current situation, the characteristics of SMR will be analyzed and its impact on energy sector will be discussed.
