Based on the research results already done by NSRA and currently conducting by RWMC for the overall issues of nuclear fuel cycle and radioactive waste management, an integrated research program which includes partitioning and transmutation, advanced vitrification process and geological disposal, is introduced. The background, viewpoints and research plan are reported as the first part of the series of presentation for this study.
