[1M04] Ultrafast electron diffraction using low-emittance femtosecond electron pulses

In order to study structural dynamics in microcrystalline materials, we generated low- emittance electron pulses by a photocathode RF gun including the focusing of UV laser pulses on cathode and the collimation of electron beam with a small condenser aperture. We succeeded to observe high-quality electron diffraction images in metal, semiconductor and oxided material crystals with the low-emittance femtosecond electrons pulses.
