As part of the combined effort to reveal in-depth fuel debris status of the damaged Fukushima Unit-2 and Unit-3 reactors, possible RPV-boundary failure modes of Unit 2 have been considered. Three possible RPV-boundary failure modes are proposed based on information from internal investigations on this unit. It is intended in our future research to confirm and/or modify this assumption with analyses and experiments where appropriate.
