[1L04] On-line monitoring of liquid metal level through change of static gas pressure

The dynamic flowing test of high temperature fluids such as liquid metals and molten salts require the installation of the liquid level monitors in the tanks of convection loops. The liquid level has been measured with ultrasonic level meter, conductivity level meter, mutual inductance level meter, and gas injection type level meter. The purpose of the present study is to propose new liquid level meter with simpler structure. The liquid level is obtained from the pressure information in the tank and its branch tube. The principle of the static gas type level meter was theoretically derived. The performance of the liquid level meter was investigated by the simulation study.
