[3L06] Effect of pressure on gas retention behavior in bubbles for beryllium
Keywords:Nuclear fusion reactor, Plasma facing materials, Beryllium, Gas retention property, Microstructure
Beryllium will be used as the first wall in ITER. The bubbles formed in beryllium under high dose hydrogen isotopes and helium irradiations are known to relate to void swelling and gas retention behavior. In this study, deuterium and helium gases inside bubbles were quantitatively evaluated with high accuracy and high spatial resolution under annealing by scanning transmission electron microscopy combined with electron energy loss spectroscopy (STEM-EELS).
