[2E11] Effect of irradiation induced swelling on fiber/matrix residual stress of liquid phase sintering SiC composites
キーワード:SiC, ion-irradiation, swelling, CTE, residual stress, YAG
SiC/SiCf composites are attractive structural materials in fission and fusion reactors for their stability under high temperature and irradiation. Residual stress exists between fiber and matrix caused by coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) mismatch of fiber and matrix during processing. The residual stress is affected by differential irradiation induced swelling of fiber and matrix. The objective of this work is to understand effect of irradiation on the residual stress. 3 kinds of LPS SiC were irradiated up to 10 dpa at 800℃. Irradiation induced swelling and CTE were measured to evaluate residual stress. Microstructure evolution was explored using TEM. Compared with previous research at 300℃, the sintering additive YAG no longer became amorphous and the amount of swelling was limited.
