(2) Melting behavior of chloride salt fuel

In order to predict the melting behavior of chloride molten salt fuels, differential thermal analysis of quasi-ternary chloride salts was performed using rare earth elements as mock fuel materials. The measurement results showed thermal anomalies at temperatures other than the melting temperature of the constituent salts, suggesting complex melting and precipitation behavior.
