In fusion reactor blankets, functional ceramic coatings have been developed to mitigate tritium permeation and shown a high hydrogen isotope permeation reduction and compatibility with the blanket materials. On the other hand, functional coatings are exposed to high dose neutron and gamma-ray in the actual reactor; however, there are limited knowledge on corrosion by tritium breeders, especially in gamma-ray irradiation environment. Therefore, in this presentation, we report the effects of gamma-ray irradiation on corrosion behavior of the coating by conducting liquid lithium-lead exposure tests with and without gamma-ray irradiation.
