Power plants have numerous equipment/instruments, and it is desirable to monitor the status of equipment deterioration based on operational data for early detection of deterioration. For monitoring plant performance and equipment/instruments deterioration Hitachi has been developing the HAPPS (Hitachi Advanced Plant Performance diagnosis System) which is based on the heat balance analysis and the DVR (Data Validation and Reconciliation). The DVR is one of statistical analysis methods and is well-known in Europe nuclear field. According to our preliminary study, the DVR has high sensitivity to instrument accuracy. In this presentation, we show how to quantitatively evaluate the instrument accuracy by comparing the deviation from the reference instrument.
