[2L03] Experimental study with microjet to elucidate the fragmentation process of small-scale vapor explosion
Keywords:Vapor Explosion, Film Boiling, Micro jet, Triggering, Fragmentation
Vapor explosion is an extremely important event from the viewpoint of assessing an accident during accident in a nuclear reactor. It is known that the vapor explosion is triggered by the collapse of vapor film formed between the hot liquid and cold liquid fluid. The high temperature liquid is fragmentated as the vapor film collapses. In this study, we focused on the interaction with high-temperature liquid by microjet. An experiment was conducted in which a jet of cooling water was jetted onto molten tin, which is a high-temperature fluid, to collide with the liquid surface. By injecting jets onto the molten tin, the process from triggering to fragmentation was reproduced, and the aspect was photographed with a high-speed camera.
