Keywords:Vertical pipe, Countercurrent flow limitation, Void fraction, Wall friction factor, Interfacial friction factor

The countercurrent flow limitation (CCFL), pressure gradient dP/dz, and void fraction αG were measured using a 40 mm diameter vertical pipe with sharp-edged top and bottom ends, the wall friction factor fw and interface friction factor fi were obtained from the data, and they were compared with the existing correlations. The CCFL characteristics were expressed by the minimum value obtained from CCFL correlations for flooding at the top and bottom ends.
