In order to implement decommissioning safely and smoothly, it is necessary to resolve issues related to the disposal of low-level radioactive waste. The authors have worked on the selection of realistic options for the disposal of low-level radioactive waste in Japan based on cross-disciplinary discussions with the nuclear industry regarding the disposal measures for low-level radioactive waste generated from decommissioning.
