JGC have plenty of experience in executing a number of oil and gas plant projects using the modular construction method. The reactor building of NuScale SMR nuclear power plant (hereinafter called VOYGRTM) will be constructed using the Steel-concrete Composite (SC) plate construction method. JGC have been developing the modular construction method for the reactor building by applying our past experiences. In the modular construction method, modules are installed at the construction site after assembling the equipment and piping etc. as modules at the off-site, and after transferring the modules to the construction site. For the realization of the modularization, JGC have been conducting various studies in terms of design, transport, and construction. This paper presents the outline of the VOYGRTM reactor building modularization as well as the associated technical challenges.
