[3N09] Measurement of nuclide-production cross sections by a few GeV proton bombardment on Si

As one of the applications of high-intensity proton beam, an accelerator-driven system (ADS) is raised. In the ADS, Si is an impurity of proton beam window. It is desired that the nuclide-production cross section by proton bombardment on Si for handling the beam window properly. The data is also important for evaluating the reliability and soft error of semiconductors of the beam window. Then, the cross sections were measured at J-PARC. After proton irradiation and cooling, gamma-ray spectra were measured by a HPGe detector. By fitting the measured spectra, we acquired the nuclide-production cross sections. In this presentation, we introduce the comparison among our measured data, results of preceding studies, PHITS calculations, and JENDL/HE-2007.
