[1B11] Development of On-Chip Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering Device for Fast and Simple Uranium Analysis
Keywords:SERS, Uranium analysis, TLC, Au nanopattern
Since analysis of uranium is necessary for various chemical processes such as the decommissioning of the Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear power station and nuclear fuel reprocessing plants, a new method which can analyze very small amounts of uranium quickly and easily is expected to be developed. This study aims to develop a "TLC-SERS device" that combines thin-layer chromatography (TLC) enabling effective separation on a chip and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) analysis of uranium at low concentrations. The TLC-SERS device having gold nano-patterned arrays was successfully fabricated, and the analytical experiments of uranium were demonstrated. As a result, it was found that the device made it possible to detect selectively uranium in waste solutions at sub-nanomol level.
